Wieland. Katie is also the creator of one of my favorite writing websites, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.helpingwritersbecomeauthors.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Helping Writers Become Authors<\/a>&nbsp;and I highly recommend you check it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And with that, let's begin!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"instruction-box\">The Basic Amazon Link<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing we need to understand is that there are multiple Amazon websites. &nbsp; While each has the name of &#8220;Amazon&#8221; , which market you go to is predicated by the Top Level Domain (TLD) at the end.&nbsp;So, if you want to go to the US market, then type in &#8220;.com&#8221; at the end. &nbsp;If you want to go to Amazon's China website, then type in &#8220;.cn&#8221; at the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is &nbsp;a complete list of those Amazon markets and their TLD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>United States: Amazon.com<br>United Kingdom: Amazon.co.uk<br>Canada: Amazon.ca<br>Germany: Amazon.de<br>France: Amazon.fr<br>Japan: Amazon.co.jp<br>Brazil: Amazon.br<br>Austria: Amazon.at<br>Italy: Amazon.it<br>Spain: Amazon.es<br>China: Amazon.cn<br>Mexico: Amazon.com.mx<br>Australia: Amazon.com.au<br>Netherlands: Amazon.nl<br>India: Amazon.in<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the examples below, I'll use the US version, which is &#8220;Amazon.com.&#8221; &nbsp;However, if you want to apply the below information to the Canadian market, then all you'll need to do is remove the &#8220;.com&#8221; and add the &#8220;.ca&#8221; to all the links below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simple, right? &nbsp;Well, let's crank it up a notch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"instruction-box\">Performing an Amazon Search Query<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When you go to Amazon.com and type in a search term like &#8220;Outline a novel&#8221;, you'll get the following resulting Amazon link:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttp:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s\/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&#038;field-keywords=Outline+a+novel\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But let\u2019s take a deep look at that Amazon Search URL and dissect it a little to see what it all means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-field-keyword\">&field-keyword=<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1297\" src=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon_com-field-keyword.png\" alt=\"Amazon Search URL anatomy for Keywords\" width=\"767\" height=\"67\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon_com-field-keyword.png 767w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon_com-field-keyword-300x26.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 100vw, 767px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is what Amazon uses to identify which search results to show based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/how-to-choose-kindle-keywords\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">keyword phrase<\/a> you placed in it. &nbsp;In this case, it has identified that we searched for: &#8220;outline+a+novel&#8221; with &#8220;+&#8221; separating the words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-s-url-search-alias\">\/s\/?url=search-alias<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"767\" height=\"67\" src=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon_com-S-url-search-alias.png\" alt=\"Amazon links for searching\" class=\"wp-image-1298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon_com-S-url-search-alias.png 767w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon_com-S-url-search-alias-300x26.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 100vw, 767px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>This is how Amazon tells itself to use the A9 Amazon search algorithm and create a search results page, automatically sorting books by the <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/how-to-choose-kindle-keywords\/\">rankings for that particular keyword term<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"offer-box\">If you want to learn more about how to get your book higher in this ranking, the check out my free copy of Amazon Book Rankings <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/amazon-kindle-rankings-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"instruction-box\">The Ebook Sales Page Link<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in the day when I was searching for my own book's link, I would go to Amazon.com, type in the <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/how-to-title-a-book-with-good-book-titles\/\">title of my book<\/a>, click on it, and copy that page's URL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, using that URL is a <strong>big mistake<\/strong> and I'll show you why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you did something like that, the link would look like this:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1138\" height=\"64\" src=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon-search-URL-with-keywords-for-book.png\" alt=\"Amazon search URL with keywords for book\" class=\"wp-image-1303\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon-search-URL-with-keywords-for-book.png 1138w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon-search-URL-with-keywords-for-book-300x17.png 300w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon-search-URL-with-keywords-for-book-1024x58.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1138px) 100vw, 1138px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>So, what is all of that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For brevity sake, I am only going to focus on the <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/parts-of-a-book\/\">parts you need to know about your book's<\/a> Amazon sales page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-your-book-s-asin-or-10-digit-isbn\">Your book's&nbsp;ASIN or 10-Digit ISBN<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1315\" src=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/10-digit-ISBN-in-a-Amazon-URL.png\" alt=\"10 digit ISBN in a Amazon URL\" width=\"996\" height=\"66\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/10-digit-ISBN-in-a-Amazon-URL.png 996w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/10-digit-ISBN-in-a-Amazon-URL-300x20.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 996px) 100vw, 996px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each book on Amazon is assigned a 10-digit Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) whenever a book doesn't have an ISBN number. &nbsp;If your book has a 13-digit ISBN, then Amazon will use the 10 digit version of the ISBN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT NOTE<\/strong>: It is because of this that if you <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/book-publishing\/\">publish your book<\/a> first on CreateSpace, and then publish a Kindle version, the CreateSpace book will rule and show up first on an &#8220;all <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/how-to-choose-the-best-kindle-ebook-category\/\">categories<\/a>&#8221; Amazon search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We'll talk more about this a little later, but for now, just understand that number will play a big part in the &#8220;perfect link&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-amazon-keywords-used-to-find-the-book\">Amazon Keywords Used to Find the Book<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"66\" src=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/10-digit-ISBN-Keyword-Search.png\" alt=\"10 digit ISBN Keyword Search\" class=\"wp-image-1316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/10-digit-ISBN-Keyword-Search.png 1000w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/10-digit-ISBN-Keyword-Search-300x20.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Like our search query, this link shows the keywords we used in which to find the book. &nbsp;It's fun to look at what other people typed to find their own book when they send me this long link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-tattle-tale-tag\">The Tattle-Tale Tag<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"996\" height=\"66\" src=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon-Sales-Page-reference-mark-that-links.png\" alt=\"Amazon Sales Page reference mark that links\" class=\"wp-image-1313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon-Sales-Page-reference-mark-that-links.png 996w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Amazon-Sales-Page-reference-mark-that-links-300x20.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 996px) 100vw, 996px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Okay, there is no official name for this tag, so I am going to deem it the &#8220;Tattle-Tale&#8221; tag. As far as I can tell, this is a time stamp and a marking for your unique search and selection. &nbsp;This number tells amazon that at this particular time, your account made this page results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notice that the first time I did the search, the number was&nbsp;<strong>1449906235<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, when I do the same search using the same account and same IP address, I get the same exact link, except that this time the tattle-tale tag has changed to&nbsp;<strong>1449907742<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, as you can see, using a&nbsp;full-width URL on a search will leave a trail that goes back to you! &nbsp;Now, this doesn't mean that everyone who clicks on that link, buys the book and leaves a review is going to have their review removed. &nbsp;However, it does give a trail that leads back to you and it is <strong>my belief<\/strong> that this could increase your chances of having those reviews removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I conducted some experiments over time and found that a higher percentage of review attempts from the long URL were removed. &nbsp;However, this is from statistics and not fact. &nbsp;After all, Amazon doesn't exactly tell us what they use to remove reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Makes sense though, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"instruction-box\">The Perfect Link To Send To Fans<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"592\" height=\"68\" src=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/The-best-link-for-Amazon-book-sales-page.png\" alt=\"The best link for Amazon book sales page\" class=\"wp-image-1314\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/The-best-link-for-Amazon-book-sales-page.png 592w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/The-best-link-for-Amazon-book-sales-page-300x34.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 592px) 100vw, 592px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>This is the form of the link that you would want to send to your fans so as to ensure that there are no identifiable markings, tags, or whatever, that will connect you to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just the <strong>raw link<\/strong> that includes an abbreviated title\/subtitle sub-URL and the ASIN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-for-more-information-of-why-reviews-get-deleted\">For More Information of Why Reviews Get Deleted<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">So, we talked about the importance of the link, but check out the video below to learn more about what else can get your reviews deleted:<br><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PudFwxVmMoM?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br>Want more videos like this?
