Create a Professional YouTube Channel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you\u2019ve got ideas for your content mapped out, you\u2019re ready to create your YouTube channel (or update the one you have). If you <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/how-to-choose-a-pen-name\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">write under a pseudonym<\/a><strong>, make sure you create an account for that name.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To optimize your channel and make it look as professional as possible, there are a few steps you can take. Set Up Playlists for Each Book<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many authors have multiple books, and that\u2019s great! If you want to successfully sell all of them, the best way to do so is to set up individual playlists for each book. It\u2019s engaging, exciting, informative, and valuable. You want your YouTube content that\u2019s promoting the book to be exactly the same. To do that, you need to create high-quality videos that are modified for this medium. Here\u2019s how to do just that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-it-actually-doesn-t-take-pricey-equipment-to-do-right\">1. Keep Videos Concise<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to create YouTube videos that lead to some sort of conversion (like selling your book), you want to keep them short. <strong>Ten minutes or less<\/strong> is the ideal timestamp for this purpose, giving you enough time to offer value without losing the user\u2019s interest before they get to your CTA that sends them to purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-open-and-close-strong\">3. Open and Close Strong<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like with your book, your YouTube video needs to open and close strong to keep the reader engaged and get them moving from your video to purchasing. Use an <strong>attention-grabbing hook immediately<\/strong> to let users know why they need to watch right away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You also need to end strong. While you should also have a link to your book immediately visible in every video\u2019s description, you should also <strong>end your video with a YouTube CTA<\/strong>&nbsp;(call to action) card that sends users to your site to purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seriously&#8230;don't forget to tell people about your book!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"instruction-box wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-optimize-your-channel\">Optimize Your Channel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your channel is set up, you need to maintain it and optimize it for continued success. You don\u2019t want to just have one great video and be done; you want to increase subscriber numbers, view counts, and more. Every audience member can only buy your book once (or twice, if they want to give it as a gift), so you need to keep attracting new viewers if you want to make selling from YouTube truly sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-consistency-is-key\">1. Consistency Is Key<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to build your channel, you need to <strong>post regularly<\/strong>. A lot of times users won\u2019t even bother coming to your channel if you only have a few videos, and if you don\u2019t continue to post regular great content, even viewers who have subscribed will fall flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s beneficial for many authors to post on a schedule. There are two reasons for this. The first is that subscribers know when your content is coming and they are ready for it. When all of your videos are lined up in a playlist, you want them to make sense. Examples include book trailers that would be different from author interviews, which would also be different from \u201chow-to\u201d snippets of content pulled directly from the book. Each subtype of video should be formatted similarly to others in their category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-utilize-strong-headlines\">3. Utilize Strong Headlines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Having an <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/how-to-title-a-book-with-good-book-titles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">incredible book title<\/a> is important (and there are great <a href=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/free-book-title-generator-tools\/\">tools available<\/a> to help you make one), and your videos\u2019 headlines are, too. Headlines are essential for discovery on YouTube. A strong headline will help get you the attention you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your headlines should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Be interesting enough to get users to click<\/li><li>Be informative enough to tell them what they\u2019ll see<\/li><li>Contain keywords, so the video pops up when users are searching for your topic<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"516\" src=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/11_strong-headline.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4607\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/11_strong-headline.png 700w, https:\/\/kindlepreneur.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/11_strong-headline-300x221.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, you should also <a href=\"https:\/\/snappa.com\/create\/youtube-thumbnails\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">create strong thumbnails for each video<\/a>.
